Facebook took down its Help Community, an online place for users to connect and share answers to questions about Facebook. I led the content strategy for the Help Community deprecation.

I partnered with legal to understand data availability requirements, and then worked with a product manager and engineer to build out an experience to download their Help Community information.

To let users know that the Help Community was being taken down, I created a banner that was displayed on the Help Community page.
I added the most important detail— that the Help Community is being taken down—to the header, so the user gets the message even if they don’t read the entire banner. I added additional details to the body, including how to download your information and hyperlinked text to the Download Your Information page.
Download Your Information
The Download Your Information page was already built out. I simply create a form option with a header and description that aligned with the voice and tone of existing options.
